Overview

The Piper PA-23 is a twin-engine utility light aircraft manufactured by Piper Aircraft. NASA used it during the Oregon Transect Ecosystem Research Project (OTTER) campaign to capture spectral imagery of coniferous forests in Oregon. The PA-23 can reach a maximum speed of 187 knots, has a maximum range of about 1,320 nautical miles, and an operational ceiling of 18,500 feet.
