Overview
The S.S. Meridian was a steam turbine ocean liner built by the Italian company Cantieri Riuniti dell’Adriatico (C.R.D.A.). It measured 702 feet long and 94 feet wide, with a top speed of 27 knots and a capacity for 1,750 passengers. The Meridian was used during the Tropospheric Aerosol Radiative Forcing Observational Experiment (TARFOX) campaign to gather radiometric measurements across the western Atlantic Ocean.
