Overview

The Le Suroît is a France-based multipurpose ship operated by the oceanographic institution Ifremer. Le Suroît can accommodate thirty-six people, including officers, scientists, and other crew members. Inside the vessel are both wet and dry labs, as well as radioactive isotope work areas. Most of the vessel’s missions include bathymetric and seismic research while conducting coring, dredging, and trawling tasks. The maximum cruising speed of Le Suroît is 10 knots.
