Overview

The Cessna 206 is a general aviation aircraft owned by NASA Langley Research Center. It is a high-wing, single-engine plane equipped with tricycle landing gear, capable of carrying a crew of three researchers. The aircraft has a useful payload of 1175 lbs and a maximum speed of 150 knots, with a range of 700 nmi. It serves as an affordable research platform and is outfitted with NASA Langley’s General Aviation Baseline Research System, an instrument package designed for atmospheric research.
