Rosemount Icing Detector

The Rosemount Icing Detector, or RID for short, is an instrument that measures ice accumulation on both research and commercial aircraft. The measured icing rate, along with other useful information recorded by the aircraft, then make it possible for the Liquid Water Content (LWC) of the ambient atmosphere to be derived.
