Autonomous Parsivel Unit

The Autonomous Parsivel Unit (APU) is an optical disdrometer. APU is a ground based instrument. It measures the size and fall velocity of hydrometers in a certain size range. It also measures drop size distribution. Based on the measurements taken, APU can also determine the type of hydrometeor measured.
