The Carbon in Arctic Reservoirs Vulnerability Experiment (CARVE) focused on quantifying arctic storage and fluxes of carbon and how these relate to climate change. CARVE had 3 deployments over Alaska during the boreal spring, summer, and fall of 2011-2015. Airborne observations of gas concentrations, water vapor, and other parameters were supplemented by ground sites that included flux towers. CARVE was one of NASA’s Earth Venture Suborbital-1 projects.
